Midwest Viking Festival

An annual festival hosted by UW-Green Bay on the Viking House grounds north of the Wood Hall parking lot, exploring Scandinavian history and daily life of a thousand years ago across Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Visitors find a Viking encampment with blacksmiths, silversmiths, a potter, weavers, woodworkers, glass bead makers, coin striking, bronze casting, bone carving and natural dye demonstrations, plus cooks using Viking Age ingredients. Programming includes battle demonstrations, saga storytelling, talks on Sami culture and Nordic plant lore, experimental-archaeology music, medieval games such as hnefatafl and kubb, archery, rune readings, tours of the Viking House and vendor stalls.
