Fire In The Shire

Fire In The Shire is a citywide medieval celebration in Alma, Wisconsin, centered on the Castlerock Museum, a castle-like building housing arms and armor collections. The museum program includes fire breathing and sword swallowing, historical fencing demonstrations with longsword, rapier and dagger, quarterstaff, poleaxe and sword and buckler, Viking martial arts, an armor talk, pike and matchlock musket demonstrations, living history groups and ornamental metalworking in the courtyard, plus medieval music in the theater. Beyond the museum, actors perform on Main Street, a local theatre screens films, and shops host a "Holy Grail" prize drawing.
