Brown County Library Renaissance Faire

The Brown County Library Renaissance Faire is an annual event held at the library's Weyers-Hilliard Branch in Howard, mixing history, fantasy, and the arts. Craftspeople demonstrate blacksmithing, weaving, and pottery making, sword fighters perform, and visitors can try battle with foam weapons. A birds-of-prey presentation, local harp and recorder musicians, a magic show, and reenactors from the medieval and Renaissance eras round out the entertainment. Children can join a scavenger hunt and crafts, while face painting, fortune telling, food trucks, and vendor booths are also on site. Period attire is encouraged, and the event welcomes all ages.
