Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival & Highland Games
The Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games is Tennessee's oldest festival of Scottish, Irish and Celtic culture, held at the Greater Smokies Event Grounds in Townsend, in the foothills just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Three stages carry music from Celtic rock to traditional Gaelic folk, alongside Scottish heavy athletics, piping and drumming competitions, Highland and Irish dance, clan tents, border collie sheep-herding demonstrations, whisky tastings, vendors, and Scottish, Irish and British food and beer. On-site parking is $15 cash per car, and courtesy carts move visitors with limited mobility between the parking area and the admission gate.
