Tennessee Renaissance Festival

The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is an Elizabethan-themed faire held on the grounds of Castle Gwynn, a residential castle in the Arrington-Triune area about 25 miles south of Nashville. A tournament field hosts full-armored jousting and a human chess match, with sword swallowing, knife throwing, fire performance, juggling, and live music on stages throughout the wooded, shaded grounds. Artisan merchants sell costumes, swords, jewelry, and glasswork, and food booths serve turkey legs and other festival fare. Tours cover the castle's exterior grounds and gardens; the residence itself is not open. Pets and alcohol are not allowed, and food, drink, and game booths are cash-only, with ATMs on site.
