Vista Viking Festival

The Vista Viking Festival is Southern California's premier celebration of Viking and Nordic culture, held annually on the third weekend of September at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista and a community tradition for over two decades. The grounds hold an interactive Viking village with more than 30 craftsmen and merchants, nine or more live bands, flaming axe and fire exhibitions, live blacksmithing, axe, spear and archery ranges, a professional stonelifting championship qualifier, an expanded kids' pavilion, and Scandinavian food and drink including meatballs, meat pies, and more than 30 local meads and beers. There is no guest parking on site; parking at two nearby high schools costs $10 cash with free shuttles, including ADA shuttles, and proceeds support the Norway Hall Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
