Vermont Fairy Tale Festival

Held annually by the Sherburne Memorial Library in Killington, the Vermont Fairy Tale Festival showcases Vermont public libraries, each sponsoring a booth built around a specific fairy tale with storytelling, puppet shows, music, or a take-home craft. Participating tales have included The Goblin Market, Labyrinth, Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood and The Polar Express. Vendors sell fairy-tale themed wares, food trucks attend, and a Viking encampment offers training and activities, including live steel sword fighting that may not suit smaller children. Attendance has passed 1,200. Admission is free with a donation of a non-perishable item for the food bank or humane society; costumes are encouraged.
