The Grammar School Medieval Fair

An annual one-day medieval village event staged on the campus of The Grammar School, an independent preschool-through-eighth-grade school in Putney, Vermont, set on a 60-acre property. Now in its 37th year, it draws more than 1,300 visitors for rides, games and entertainment, with a Marketplace selling snacks and medieval-themed gifts and crafts. Attractions include a slide into the dragon's lair on the school's 40-foot hillside slide, a flying dragon ride, Sir Lancelot's flying horse, pillow jousting, foam-arrow archery, a climbing wall, a candy catapult, a fortune teller and knighting by the King and Queen. Admission is free, with ride passes sold separately; net proceeds support the school's financial aid fund.
