Sherwood Forest Faire

Sherwood Forest Faire is a locally owned medieval-style village in the Lost Pines area of Central Texas, about 35 miles east of Austin at McDade. The 25-acre site holds more than 100 permanent buildings, including stages, pubs, merchant shoppes, a complete castle and wedding venues such as Nottingham Castle's Great Hall, the 7 Sisters Sacred Stone Circle and Maid Marian's Chapel. Robin Hood's spring faire runs over 150 shows a day from more than 40 stage acts, with full contact jousting, falconry, archery, fire juggling, knife throwing, live bands and a castle siege, plus over 170 artisans and merchants demonstrating crafts. Gates open 10 am to dusk, rain or shine; pets are allowed only in the campgrounds. A Celtic Yuletide Festival with Highland games and Celtic bands is also held on the grounds.
