Renaissance Faire
Scarborough Renaissance Festival
Scarborough Renaissance Festival is a long-running Renaissance faire in Waxahachie, Texas, founded in 1981 and themed around a 16th-century English village hosting King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. The grounds cover 35 acres of a 167-acre property and hold 27 performance stages, roughly 200 artisan shops, and a resident cast of more than 150 performers. Entertainment includes full-contact jousting, birds-of-prey demonstrations, a living chess match, a mermaid lagoon, knightings, and a daily parade, with a different theme each weekend. Food options span five food-court areas, a full-service restaurant, a dozen pubs and taverns, and daily beer and wine tastings. Annual attendance exceeds 150,000.
