Savannah Scottish Games and Celtic Festival

An annual Scottish and Celtic heritage festival held outdoors at Bynuh's Field on the grounds of Bethesda Academy, about 12 miles from downtown Savannah, among live oaks and marshland along the Moon River. The programme includes heavy athletics such as the caber toss, sheaf toss, hammer throw and stone put, EUSPBA-sanctioned pipe band and solo piping and drumming competitions, Highland dancing, acoustic and Celtic rock bands, over 30 clan and society tents, genealogy groups, living history reenactors, border collie herding, birds of prey, tug-of-war, hurling and children's activities. Tickets are sold online only; parking is free and onsite. Scooters and wheelchairs are allowed, though the grass and sandy ground is unpaved.
