Fairy Tale Forest Festival

A one-day outdoor storytelling festival held at the Dunwoody Nature Center, centered on folktales shared by local and regional storytellers whose work reflects the cultural heritage of the Piedmont Region and the African oral tradition. Along the park's trails visitors find performances on a main stage and throughout the grounds, discovery stations about the natural environment, arts and crafts, and food. Other features include costume contests for children and adults dressed as storybook characters, mythical creatures or heroes, an interactive farmyard and petting zoo with goats, sheep, pigs and rabbits, and booths of local artisans selling jewelry, storybooks and crocheted goods.
