Royalty & Rogues - The CNY Pirate Festival

Royalty and Rogues is an annual two-day Central New York festival that mixes medieval royalty themes with pirate and rogue characters, founded by Time Swirl Entertainment as a revival of the earlier Renaissance Revels. Attendees turn out in costume as kings, queens, lords, knights, pirates, privateers and rogues, and an opening fanfare of bagpipes launches a marketplace of vendors selling crafts, jewelry, leatherwork, soaps and period-inspired wares. Entertainment includes musical acts such as the Paddy Nappers, the Happy Haggs of Central New York dance troupe, magic acts, puppet shows and knightly combat in a "Medieval Meadow," alongside food, brews, wine and mead. Admission is $5 for adults and teens, with children under 10 free.
