Mayfaire on the Green

Mayfaire on the Green is a two-day Renaissance festival held each spring on the Holland Patent Village Green, off Route 365 north of Utica. Admission is free. The grounds fill with strolling minstrels, live entertainment, fire dancers, sword fights, pirates, fairies and a mermaid, alongside vendors and artisans set up throughout the park. Blacksmithing demonstrations, historic games such as Nine Men's Morris, costumed characters and food and drink round out the day, and many guests attend in costume. Run by Parker Promotions, the festival has drawn hundreds of visitors and grown steadily over more than a decade, with a relocation to Erwin Park in Boonville announced.
