Pirate/Viking Summer Bash

A pirate- and Viking-themed summer festival held at Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood, New Mexico, with the park and sanctuary zoo as its primary beneficiary. Five stages carry dozens of performances across the weekend, including Celtic and Nordic music, storytellers, belly and fire dancing, and sword-fighting demonstrations and weapons tournaments. Around 80 craft merchants, encampments, food vendors, six taverns pouring New Mexico beer and mead, axe throwing, gem panning, a dunk tank, tomato toss, mermaid cove, petting animals and horse rides fill the grounds. Adult admission is $30 at the gate, seniors and military $20, children 17 and under free with a paid adult. Parking is free, and sidewalks from the entrance to the main stages are wheelchair accessible.
