Oakenmist Renaissance Faire

The Oakenmist Renaissance Faire is an indoor-focused event held in a covered, air-cooled facility, with some vendors and activities outdoors when weather allows, and it runs rain or shine. The program emphasizes education, local organizations and small businesses, with martial and historical swordfighting demonstrations, Renaissance dancing, magic, Celtic and Irish music, strolling comedic singers, reenactors, blacksmithing, natural dyeing, beekeeping and herbology presentations. Artisan exhibitors demonstrate illumination, embroidery, weaving, metalworking and gameplaying. A marketplace gathers more than 85 vendors of handmade medieval goods, plus fortunetellers, a bakery and a meadery. Free hands-on lessons in whip-cracking, slinging and boomerang throwing are offered at the Training Grounds.
