New York Capital District Renaissance Festival

An annual two-weekend Renaissance festival held at Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont, New York, drawing over 10,000 attendees with more than 60 live performances. Visitors find the Queen's Royal Joust, a full-contact jousting show by Equus Nobilis, and an artisan marketplace of over 80 vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, pottery, weapons and Renaissance garb, with craftspeople forging swords, blowing glass and stringing jewelry on site. Other attractions include a pub crawl through Indian Ladder Cidery & Brewery with a collectible ceramic mug, festival food such as turkey legs, and Kids Kingdom with knighting ceremonies, costume contests and balloon art. The grounds are dog friendly.
