Michiana Renaissance Festival

A family-oriented renaissance festival held at the St. Joe County 4H Fairgrounds in South Bend, Indiana, run by Entertaining History, Inc., a volunteer-staffed non-profit. The event covers four re-enactment periods \u2014 medieval/renaissance, the Golden Age of Piracy, the time of the Vikings, and Fairytale Storyland \u2014 with one highlighted each year. Visitors find sword fights, comedy, magic, falconry, glass blowing, metal forging, textile spinning, axe tossing and reenactments, plus merchants, food and drink vendors, a Kid's Quest booth, petting zoo and Dragon Games. Costume is optional, and peace-tied period weapons are permitted.
