Blue River Highland Games

The Blue River Highland Games & Festival is an annual celebration of Scottish heritage held at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, Indiana, run by the city's Parks and Recreation Department. Athletes compete in traditional Highland Games events including the caber toss, sheaf toss, light and heavy hammer, weight over bar, and stone throws, alongside lively music, traditional dancing, food trucks, merchandise vendors, and family-friendly entertainment. Admission is free for spectators, competition runs from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine, and accommodations for special assistance can be requested by email up to two weeks before the event.
