Heartlands Renaissance Festival

Heartlands Renaissance Festival is a Texas event held on fairgrounds along Highway 36 between Comanche and Gustine, built around its Tournament of Realms combat competition. The tournament brings together several fighting disciplines, including buhurt armored combat marshalled by Texas Armored Combat, mounted events such as tilting, mounted melee and horse archery, Historical European Martial Arts with longsword, sabre, rapier and sword and buckler, Society for Creative Anachronism heavy and rapier fighting, and LARP duels and battle games. Competitors are asked to wear period-appropriate garb, and spectators can watch historical martial arts demonstrations by reconstruction enthusiasts.
