Greenbelt Green Man Festival

An annual two-day outdoor festival held at Roosevelt Center in Historic Greenbelt, Maryland, organized as a project of CHEARS, the Chesapeake Education, Arts and Research Society. Built around the Green Man as a symbol of the natural plant world, it combines live music, craft and food vendors, and environmental awareness themes. Programming includes a Green Man Parade, a facilitated community drum circle, a blessing, klezmer and folk bands, witch dancing, and strolling performers such as a storyteller, a giant, hoop artists and Puck. An associated art, poetry and writing exhibit runs at the New Deal Cafe.
