Great Plains Renaissance Festival (Fall)

A Renaissance and Scottish festival held in Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, running more than 25 years. Attractions include jousting and mounted combat by the Knights of the Vale, a ten-foot animatronic dragon named Ragnar, birds-of-prey demonstrations by the Master Falconers of Raptors Keep, a fairy court, and full-contact armored combat with the Wichita Bison, alongside fire breathers, jugglers, musicians, dancers, pipers and blacksmiths. Highland Games competitions cover caber toss, hammer throw, weight over bar, sheaf toss and stone throw across men's, women's, masters and junior classes. Gates run 10 AM to 6 PM, with advance discount day passes around $14 and adult weekend passes around $26.
