Great Plains Renaissance Festivals

The Great Plains Renaissance & Scottish Festival is a two-day event held in Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, Kansas, and has run for more than 25 years. Entertainment includes jousting and mounted combat by the Knights of the Vale, falconry demonstrations by the Master Falconers of Raptors Keep, a ten-foot animatronic dragon named Ragnar, a fairy court, fire breathers, jugglers, musicians, dancers and pipers, plus armored full-contact fighting by the Wichita Bison. Highland Games competitions run alongside the festival, with caber toss, hammer throw, weight over bar, sheaf toss and stone throw in men's, women's, junior and masters classes.
