Grand Valley Renaissance Festival

An annual student-organized renaissance festival run by the Grand Valley State University Renaissance Festival Club, held outdoors on the university's Allendale campus over a weekend coinciding with Homecoming. The club was founded in 1995 by four GVSU students and has continued the tradition of staging a festival each year for club members, the university and the surrounding West Michigan community. The event runs rain or shine, features a costumed cast, and has included vendor booths run by independent crafters. The organizing club also has a history of related events such as the Duke's Ball and a Yule Market.
