Denmark Iowa Renaissance Faire

The Denmark Iowa Renaissance Faire is a two-day community event held on secluded private land in southeastern Iowa, with four main areas separated by three hills, riverfront woods along the Skunk River, a meadow and natural amphitheaters formed by the surrounding forested hills. Programming centers on a rivalry between the Royal Pirates and the Guardians of the Black Forest, with dance battles, live steel melee combat, sword fighting demonstrations, Viking reenactment encampments, Highland Games competition and guided tryouts, and knighting ceremonies. Visitors find about 40 merchants, food and drink, living history tents, fire and bubble shows, and three stages of performers.
