Fairfield Iowa Renaissance Faire

A weekend renaissance faire in Fairfield, Iowa, built around three stages of continuous entertainment, three living history encampments and a marketplace of roughly three dozen merchants, artisans and hawkers. Performers include harp-led and nautical-themed musicians, a bagpiper, fire-dancing and storytelling acts, circus and escape routines, a cockatoo presentation and costumed fairies who greet children at the gate. Viking and sword-fighting groups stage unscripted live steel duels and military drills several times daily, with textile, weapons, armor and cooking demonstrations, while blacksmiths, woodworkers, axe-throwing tutors and camel rides round out the grounds.
