Blackbeard's Pirate Jamboree

Blackbeard's Pirate Jamboree is an annual fall event in the village of Ocracoke, on North Carolina's Outer Banks, celebrating the island's connection to the pirate Blackbeard, who died in a battle near Ocracoke. The centerpiece is a reenactment of Blackbeard's final battle, staged alongside a historically accurate pirate encampment with living history demonstrations, weapons demonstrations, sea shanties and other music, and a marketplace of artisan and seafaring vendors. A pirate parade, storytelling, and hands-on activities round out a program aimed at all ages, equal parts educational and entertaining.
