West Virginia Renaissance Festival

Set in the Greenbrier Valley near Lewisburg, this festival recreates the village of Essex, where bagpipers welcome King Edward and Queen Eleanor and a grand joust is held in their honor. Visitors find artisans and merchants selling wares, savory foods and West Virginia local brews, games of skill, music and dancing, a petting farm, dragons and unicorn rides, plus jugglers, magicians, rope walkers and whip crackers, and a forest of Broceliande with the Faerie Queen Titania. Each weekend carries a theme, with Celtic, pirate, Viking and Bacchanalia programming, and add-on experiences include a pub crawl, a tabletop adventure and the Essex Quest puzzle trail.
