Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games gather clans, competitors, performers, families and visitors on MacRae Meadows in Linville, North Carolina for a weekend of Scottish heritage, music, athletics, dance and community, with clan tents, dance competitions, Friday and Saturday evening concerts, separately ticketed whisky tastings, and food vendors selling barbecue, turkey legs and Scottish haggis. Adult daily admission runs about $25 to $40, a four-day ticket about $85, and daytime visitors reach the meadow by a $10-per-seat cash shuttle. Certified ADA service animals are welcome, and golf cart shuttles operate on the field for visitors who need help with mobility.
