Waynesville Fantasy Festival

A free, family-friendly fantasy festival held in downtown Waynesville and hosted by Green Feather Apothecary, celebrating all things fantasy. Attractions include a LARP shire with an archery contest and training grounds where visitors can learn the fighting styles of dwarves, elves and orcs, fire performances, falcon and birds-of-prey encounters, live music, a halfling tea party, trivia, a cosplay competition, a walking staff competition, a dwarven beer garden, and an apothecary-themed quest. It is a fan event, not affiliated with the Tolkien estate, and admission is free.
