Scandinavian Festival

The Scandinavian Festival is produced by the Scandinavian American Cultural and Historical Foundation on the California Lutheran University campus in Thousand Oaks, celebrating the Scandinavian heritage of the university and of the Conejo Valley, settled by Norwegians in the 1890s. It grew from a small campus open house of Scandinavian art, rare books, food, dancing and music into an event spread across the university grounds, with a festival stage and children's craft areas in Kingsmen Park, vendor booths along Memorial Parkway, and exhibits and programs in Samuelson Chapel and nearby facilities. Programming includes main and children's stages, food demonstrations, historical demonstrations, a speaker's corner and a worship service.
