Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California

The Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California recreates a 1580s Elizabethan market faire set in Port Deptford, a fictional English waterfront town. The first Renaissance fair in the United States, it began as a weekend fundraiser for a North Hollywood radio station and now runs over several weekends each spring at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale. Costumed performers portraying merchants, townsfolk and nobility remain in character throughout the grounds, and the program includes live entertainment on multiple stages, artisans selling handmade goods, food vendors, games and activities for all ages, and themed weekends such as a pirate weekend.
