The Maine Renaissance Faire

An outdoor renaissance faire held over several weekends at the Acton Fairgrounds in Maine, running rain or shine. Visitors are greeted by the arrival of the Queen at opening, and the grounds include a jousting field where armored knights compete for the tournament title, multiple stages and performance areas, merchant buildings and a tavern. Many stages and the jousting field are under cover, and a misting tent is provided in hot weather. Costume is optional, with renaissance, medieval, Viking, pirate and fantasy dress all welcome. Parking on site is free, and the main walking area is paved.
