Iowa Renaissance Festival

The Iowa Renaissance Festival stages a medieval-themed village in the Iowa countryside, populated by costumed performers and built around a mix of entertainment, shopping and food. Visitors find a marketplace of artisan wares, handcrafted goods and medieval-inspired gifts, along with performers such as fire-breathers, jesters, minstrels and acrobats. Live jousting and combat tournaments feature knights competing in the lists, while food stalls offer turkey legs, honey mead, pastries and other fare. Guests are welcome in period garb or everyday clothes. The organisers also run renaissance festivals in several other states.
