Gatalop Renaissance Festival

The Gatalop Renaissance Festival is a living-history event held at historic Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island, Alabama. It is hosted by the Barony of Osprey, a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and recreates life in the Middle Ages within the fort's grounds. Knights in armor storm the castle and fight in melees and sieges, while visitors can meet lords, ladies, and artists and browse the wares of medieval merchants. Reenactment encampments, music, and period crafts fill out the weekend, with the fort's historic setting serving as the festival's backdrop.
