Blackbeard Pirate Festival

An annual pirate-themed event held at Mill Point Park and in downtown Hampton, organized by the city's Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services department. Dozens of pirate re-enactors in historically accurate garb, led by a portrayal of Blackbeard himself, recreate the waterfront as an 18th-century seaport and retell the history and legends of Hampton in 1718. Visitors find children's activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, and arts and crafts along the waterfront.
