Black Hills Renaissance Festival

A weekend Renaissance festival in the Black Hills, now held on the grounds of Kickstands Campground near Sturgis, with tent and RV camping and on-site parking. Founded by Shareece Tatum, it began as a small event and has grown each year, adding vendors, guilds, performers and jousting, and drawing guests from across the region. Visitors find an all-ages program with activities for children, craft and merchandise vendors, performing animals, and alcohol service for guests of legal age. Costume is encouraged but not required, and props and weapons must be checked and peace-tied at the entrance.
