Renaissance faires in Wyoming

Wyoming's renaissance scene is small, recent, and notably charity-driven, anchored by community nonprofits rather than commercial festival companies. In Sheridan, the Tournament of Knights at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds — billed as the eighth annual at its 2025 edition — is the main yearly fundraiser for CHAPS Equine Assisted Services, a nonprofit providing horse-based healing programs for youth, adults and veterans, and its centerpiece joust is performed by the Knights of Valour of Ontario, Canada. The same troupe, together with Visit Cheyenne, announced the first-ever Winter Knights of Cheyenne, a February indoor renaissance festival first held in 2024 at the Event Center at Archer that drew thousands of attendees in 2026. In Casper, the High Plains Renaissance Faire, co-owned by Cindy Wright, stages its festival at historic Fort Caspar, with a portion of every general-admission ticket benefiting the Fort Caspar Museum and a Midnight Court Masquerade Ball raising funds for the faire's actors, musicians, artisans and tradesmen. The state's Celtic wing is older: Evanston's Ceili at the Roundhouse, organized by The Arts Inc., was already in its eleventh year by 2019 and brings headline bands from Belfast, Glasgow and Ireland to play inside the Evanston Roundhouse, a former Union Pacific building erected in 1871 and restored in 2009. Repurposed railroad and frontier landmarks as venues, and a season that runs indoors through the High Plains winter as well as outdoors in summer, give Wyoming's circuit its distinctive shape.
