Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival

A Scottish and Irish cultural festival held each September in Estes Park, Colorado, founded by Dr. James Durward in the 1970s to extend the mountain town's tourism season. The festival grounds host Highland athletic competitions, solo piping and pipe band contests, Highland dancing, clan gatherings, Celtic rock and folk musicians, and cultural and educational demonstrations across multiple stages. A separate evening program, the Estes Park International Tattoo, brings together military and ceremonial bands, massed pipes and drums, precision drill, dancers and cultural performers. Sword training sessions with actor Adrian Paul are offered as a ticketed add-on.
