Children's Gasparilla Pirate Fest

Children's Gasparilla is a family-oriented, alcohol-free pirate celebration held along Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa, drawing more than 150,000 parents and children annually to what is billed as the largest children's parade in the United States. The parade steps off at Bay to Bay Boulevard and runs 1.5 miles north along Bayshore to Edison Avenue, with beads thrown from more than 100 units including Krewe floats, marching bands, and dance performers. The day also features a Preschooler's Stroll, a bicycle safety rodeo with free helmets, an aerobatic air show with a precision parachute jump, and a fireworks finale staged from the Jose Gasparilla II pirate ship; admission is free.
