Gasparilla Pirate Fest

Gasparilla Pirate Fest is a pirate-themed civic celebration in Tampa hosted by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, a tradition held since 1904. The day opens with hundreds of vessels forming a flotilla behind the Jose Gasparilla II, described as the world's only fully-rigged pirate ship, as the krewe invades the city and reclaims the key from the Mayor. A Parade of Pirates with more than 100 floats then travels down Bayshore Boulevard into downtown Tampa before crowds of pirate-garbed onlookers. Related events include the Ashley Children's Gasparilla and the Outbound Voyage.
