Florida Renaissance Festival, Deerfield Beach

Held at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, this weekend festival recreates a 16th-century village called Kimmendale. Visitors browse an artisan marketplace of more than one hundred merchants selling blown glass, hammered pewter, wooden toys, hand-tooled leather, weaponry, pottery and clothing, and watch performers on twelve stages, including sword fighters, minstrels and magicians. Jousting tournaments run three times daily, and themed weekends, demonstrations, a pub crawl and pub sing fill the schedule. Games of chance and skill include axe throwing, archery, fencing and kayaks, alongside food, desserts, ale, cider, mead and wine.
